Leaves Curling Up

I noticed that the leaves on the bell pepper plants were curling up. It started about two weeks after I planted the bell peppers.  The nursery said that it was probably because I was over watering.  Then I started noticing the leaves curling on one of the tomato plants.  It was time to take action.  I have a drip system and set the timer to water every 3 days for a longer period of time.  It is better for the plant to get soaked and have some time to dry out rater than get watered a little bit every day.  Sure enough they were right the new growth had normal leaves without curling.

Lesson learned.

My Vegetable Garden 2011

Last year I decided to take out what was left of the grass and replace it with plants.  This was quite a task.  Take a walk with me through my garden.
One of the tomato plants that I planted this year.  The yellow on the plants is from the sun.  I really liked the effect so I had to share it with you.
I planted the jalapeno about 2 weeks ago and this is the first pepper so far.  Can't wait to try it.
The serrano pepper was planted last year 2010. Here are some of the first peppers this year.
All of the berries were planted last year.  This plant didn't do much until the last month or two.  Now it is really taking off and it looks like I will get to enjoy some black berries this year.  There are a few on the plant already.
This is a raspberry bush and it has been spreading like crazy this year.  Hopefully it doesn't take over the yard.

The strawberries never quite make it in the house.  They taste really good.
Now this is a plant that I didn't plant.  I'm not sure what it is quite yet.  I'm thinking maybe bell pepper.  We will just have to see as time goes on.

Both of the bell peppers were planted this year (top) red and (bottom) yellow bell pepper. I'm hoping this year will be better for the bell peppers. I didn't get much off either of the plants last year.
I planted this squash about a week ago and its looking good so far.  It should spread out quite a bit as it matures.

So far I am very pleased with how the garden is shaping up.  I still have an area to fill in so stay tuned to what I decide to plant there.
